Funny how some people in the comments are convinced this is a fraud when its not. If you're unsure just call a telus/koodo store and ask the rep if the 1-877 number is legit... Because it is.
I was also skeptical based on the comments below so I reached out to a Telus live agent and they confirmed it was a legit Koodo/Telus rep. If you're unsure, just contact Telus or Koodo directly and ask.
Hello! I am a Telus/Koodo employee. Right now they have us (from the stores) reaching out to customers as a courtesy or if you're eligible for an upgrade/to add a line.
Hello, I am also a Telus employee and can verify the number is being used by Telus/Koodo employees and should display as TELUS when receiving a call. They are courtesy calls and to inform customers on specific offers they may have on their accounts.
I currently work at Koodo Mobile and can confirm this is legit. Sales reps in stores and at home are now making outbound calls for sales. You can call any local corporate Telus or Koodo store to confirm. Also if this number is calling you we are given special bill credit discounts to provide that in store cannot.
Sales reps calling from store or at home to assist customers remotely. I contacted telus via the customer service number on their website to Inquire if it is legitimate and they advised it is one of their numbers specifically for these sales reps.
This is a real number, It is the number TELUS reps use with Business Connect in order to get any call backs. TELUS is calling people in regards with their phones and plans. The number is not the same on the website because that website is for customer service, While this one is directly for that rep that had called you. They are calling customers because of the pandemic.
I keep getting these "courtesy calls" everyday from Koodo because "your local retail location is closed" and I always let them go to voicemail, I eventually called them back one time but gave up after being put on hold for 20 minutes. The whole voice menu and options when you call seems very fishy, Not convinced it's a scam but I would advise you to ignore these calls and not respond.
Call from Telus asking how my services are and to go thru any offers. The number is not their main client care line. Telus said it's being used my store employees who have been switched to work remotely as a result of the coronavirus and store closures.
