Email used was "noreply@mycredit-guide. Americanexpress. Com" and this number ^. I personally called the real AMEX customer support on their website using GOOGLE (not using links/phone # in the email) and they said I have no record of credit card applications (thank god!)
That may be a legit AmEx phone number but the email is definitely a scam. I received the email and contacted AmEx afterwards. They assured me that they did not send this and I forwarded it to their scam response. They protected my account, passwords were changed, and they advised that I lock my credit with all 3 credit bureaus which I did. It is a very authentic looking email scam. There are no typos, no misuse of language or punctuation errors.
This is a scammer trying to get your credit card infomation!. Amex does not pull from Transunion, nor do they send those type of emails. If you fill out the info on the email as directed and then call or click on your Amex site you will be scammed, and they will have your CC info!.
The people messenging here don't know what they are talking about. This number is on the American Express website under
"Check your credit score" and then "What if I have trouble with the Identity Verification process?"

Tried to scam me, except I knew that Amex primarily pulls from Experian and that when I called the # on the email I gave lots of incorrect info and then it would not get me to a live person. Also even if Transunion had sent the email, the real # for 1 (800) 916-8800
