Claims to be an agent for a student loan forgiveness program. Sounds really sketchy, I haven’t heard of anything like this, Seems like it would be all over the news if it was real.
I am in Canada and received a recorded call from agent XXXX XXXXagent 2561 saying my student loan has been flagged as eligible if I could please call 202 843 XXXX and was provided a validation code.....
I have not applied for any student loan, Nor a student, And this message came from a US number and I am in Canada. SCAM ALERT
I live in NJ and this came from “Leonardtown, MD” today...
“Hi this is XXX XXXX agent 2561 and looks like you're still not ______ five eligible for the recent stimulus forgiveness and relief legislation however your application needs to be completed this applies to all loan statuses including loans in default and garnishment if you could please call your dedicated eligibility line at 202-843-5999 we can have a supplied immediately…
My phone didn't even ring. I just suddenly had a voicemail and it was that. It was suspicious, So I looked it up just to make sure. I'm so glad I did! Thank you for letting me know that it is a scam.
Trying to get your social security number and birthdate so that they can steal your identity. Do NOT call them back. Report it and fill out the “Do not call list” violation report online so that they get sued by the FTC
Similar to others, Got a call about student loan forgiveness with instructions to call this Washington, DC number. I don't have any student loans. Must be a scam.
I got this phone call and I'm a first-year uni student (in Canada) and they had mentioned a forgiveness check or loan thing, Did not appreciate this phone call as the "agent" made it seem urgent and it made me believe that I had not filled out my OSAP properly
also the number that called me and left the voice mail was not the same number they had used to call me, The number that called me and left the voice mail is 352-815-XXXX
I live in Canada and they called me (on my work phone) about a student loan forgiveness, That apparently seems to be coming from the states. The "person" calling said her name was XXXX XXXX Agent #2561.
As someone who desperately needs my student loans payed... This is a very, Very cruel scam.
Pretended to be a loan forgiveness organization, Saying to call back about a stimulus thing. Pretty sure that is an American thing and well I am Canadian
They called with a different number and said to call this number for Student Loan forgiveness. I haven’t had a student loan in twenty two years and I live in Canada and the number is from the US. Lol XXXXX.
She stated my customer number, Her agent number, And said Im qualified for loan forgiveness. She did not state the institution name, And provided the above number to call back.
Scam - left a message stating that I was eligible for a loan... I'm not in school nor do i need a loan. Glad I didn't call back. If you call back, Remember you're wasting your own minutes if you do not have long distance.
No mention of company and asking you to complete an application. This is definitely a scam. If you need help with your student loan contact the company that you have your loan with.
Some girl from a stimulus forgiveness for student loans. Definitely not friendly and when called back and ask questions they hang up on me all the time. Multiple people work for this place. One girl called me dumb and sounded dumb for asking questions and needs to go back to school btw I do have a degree. Another guy seemed ****ed off
I received a call from the so called stimulus forgiveness relief. The agent? Left the 2028435399. I dont trust anyone so I google everything. A scam for sure.
I do have student loans as I am currently a college student, But this sounded fishy from the start. The fact that I wasn't told what company this was going through led me to google the phone number and now I see that a lot of people are having the same problem. It's definitely a scam.
Scam... Beware and never give anyone vital info
over the phone unless you know the person that you are dealing with! Scammers abound during Covid!
Do not let them win and take advantage of you
like the orange monkey in the White House!

So-called agent gives their agent number and says you are eligible for loan forgiveness on a first-come basis. No mention of what company they are calling from and the number to call is completely different from the number they are calling from
This is the voicemail left:

Got a call message from American voiced female named XXXX XXXX/XXX(?) at the above number with extension 2561, Saying that my application qualifies for some student loan forgiveness-garbled something and if I would just call the “eligibility line” with my personal info and validation code of xxxxxxx, My application can be updated. I’ve handled my repayment plans with the Fed gov for a number of years... Not sure why I now suddenly need help with this, But I’ll pass on their assistance! Go
Just got the call, I live in Ontario CANADA. Same message as reported below about student loan forgiveness, In complete application. I've never had a student loan.
Don’t believe the companies when they claim DOE gave your number to them. Think about, Would DOE have your number? The only organization that has your number would be your school loan company.
Claims to be (on VM) that I'm eligible for the recent stimulus forgiveness and relief legislation however my application needs to be completed and this applies to all loan statuses including loans in default and garnishment and to call because all benifits are limited. Giant scam, Their usuing the "All American" sounding people to try to scam people now instead of their usual foreigner accents (with no knowledge of anything) which are usual giveaways of their scams. I have NO student loans eithe
I got the call as a potential scam. She left a voicemail with her name and agent badge number saying student loans are eligible for some Covid stimulus legislation relief, And said to call a number back referencing 070120. As other people said don’t fall to this trap.
Left message said" this is Elisa from student loan agent #2561, Your application for stimulus loan not complete please call 202 843 5999 for eligibility line, First come first serve. Whrn calling in use ref# 0701201". I never applied for loan.
Total scam called and left message saying it was about my stimulus check and in order to get it I needed to call and give customer is XXXXXX to finish my app. Total scam do not call
They left a voicemail, Asked to enter my personal validation code 070120. Came here to check if this was a scam, As I do have student loan but the area code didn't make sense since I'm in Canada.

Scam. Left a few voicemails saying student loans are eligible for some Covid stimulus legislation relief XXXXX (stimulus’ aren’t “legislated” in the first place ya clowns), And said to call a number back referencing 070120.
They left a message that my student loans can be forgiven and/or my stimulus check will be forwarded after I complete my application. I have no student loans and I received my stimulus check months ago. I didn't speak to a live person but the VM was enough to
make me 90% believe it was a scam... After googling it I'm 110% it is... BEWARE!!!
Called XXX XXX id #2561 called regarding stimulus check said to call for completion of application about student loan I owe. NEVER had a student loan. SCAM

Offered student loan forgiveness / stimulus $$.
Call dropped after 10 seconds conversation. Real person for those 10 seconds.
I recalled the number.
Option 1 to opt out, Option 2 to connect to advisor.
Pressing Option 2 consistently resulted in Option 1's result.
Weird
Claimed to be an agent but didn't state who they represent. Offered Stimulus Student Loan forgiveness if you call them back. Funny thing is I don' t have any loans, Only grants and scholarships plus my own money. Claim that I need to provide "special" number 0101** when I call. I WON'T be calling back.
