This number appeared on google when i searched for the child benefit office number. When you call it states it is child benefit and puts you on hold then cuts off after around 15 mins. This cost me £80. Do not call this number, it is a scam.

Again as the person above searched for child benifit, didnt see the small print as wasn't wearing my glasses, I did hear the man saying charge per min but was garbled so didn't hear it or would have hung up straight away, so now will be charged my than my monthly telephone bill for less than 9 mins, luckily I hung up, hubby told me how daft I am, gave me the correct number, I was on for £23 doesn't bare a though.
