Scam, Santander telling me my account has been comprimsed, text from the same Santander thread tries to get you to 'create' a new account and transfer money to new account. Hang up
Scammers pretending to be Santander, very convincing, only knew as they used the wrong address to the one my bank has, also no hold music which seeing as I spend 4+hours waiting on Sant yesterday, I am now very familiar with.
This number claimed to be Santander, i thought it was actually them as they had my name and last 4 digits of my card, Till i searched the number and found this and also realised the Santander Customer Service was closed. A scam.
Very convincing scammer who almost had me hand over my details.
Said that there were MANY fraudulent transactions made and that they were 'caught by the high fraud team'...
beware this number - they're out for you!!!!
My partner just had this call.
It was following a genuine call from Santander regarding card fraud activity. The first call and fraud alert were both verified as a genuine detection from Santander.
Best guess is that these evil folk learn they triggering a genuine fraud alert when the stolen card details are cancelled. This then trigger's a plan B where they pretend to be the follow-up call of the first fraud incident. Quite nasty.
They pretended to be santander, Having my card details and my name and even my address. It was connected to a scam text I have previously responded to. They tried to make me send them all of my money ITS A SCAM DO NOT DO IT. If you are unsure about a call GO PHYSICALLY TO A SANTANDER BRANCH AND BLOCK YOUR CARD IF YOURE AFRAID OF GETTING SCAMMED!!! A bank will never call you especially when they’re the ones that have full access to your account further more they won’t ask you to proceed with a tr
My mum had a call from this number claiming to be Santander and that she had someone use her account to buy something in Liverpool, We live in the opposite end of the country. They were convincing but when it got to my mum being told to pay some money alarm bells rang and looked up the number and found this website and told her to cancel the call
Had several calls from this number, I explain every time not to call me in work and I gave time to call me during the morning, I’ve not had call yet but they are very pushy on phone, Be careful everyone
Just called me saying he was from my bank and knew my name. Said a suspicious payment had been made from my account in Belfast (I live in England). I'd ignored the call originally (as I usually do with unknown numbers) but he tried again straight away so I answered. Told him I was at work and could he call back later. He said he would but I doubt he will.
Pretended to be a bank. Saying someone authorised money being taken out of direct debit to Argos. I went along with it, Knowing it was a scam. Waiting for him to ask for confirmation off me. He wanted postcode to verify it was me. I said no and he immediately hung up. Dont give any details away and so not trust this number. Glad I knew it was a scam.
