Follow up call from Santander. They had no problem in verifying themselves.
Genuine numbers can be spoofed, if you have any doubt, hang up and call a know number. They will let you know if it was genuine or fraudsters.
Definitely a genuine number, working abroad and have verified this number with them. I called them first from a number from the website and used a codeword for them to call me back.
That's nit to say the number cannot be spoofed, always be sure its Santander before discussing info.
These people have hacked into my mobile and stolen all my online banking details and attempted to spend money on my credit card. Now that Santander have closed my account down, these people are trying to ring me to convince me they are Santander calling about the fraud on my account and what i should now do with my money. Do not answer the phone to these people, it is a scam.
They asked for me by name.
Explained they were Santander and wanted to as me security questions before they would say they why they were calling.
I terminated the call.
The number has a recording saying they are Santander
