Called me on 8/9 Oct several times, from this 08001697762, but different people. Claimed to be Lloyds Bank, calling to Mr. Pete (or similar name) talking about his mortgage with the Bank.
A, I'm not the Mr. Pete...
B, I dont deal with Lloyds at all.
So instantly I know its a scam call, however they are so persistent. After 5 or 6 times I finally picked up, and confronted with them saying I dont deal with Lloyds.
They hang up instantly.
Rang 13. 20 sat Oct 5.
Said trom my mortgage company.
Asked for my dob
I asked how he got my number because I know my mortgage company hasn't got it.
I asked what date my mortgage started
He wouldn't tell me without my information first
Called himself Michael
A lady calling, claiming to be from scottish widow complaints department. The lady said, as I had put a complaint in she needed to talk to me. This was not true, as I had not complained to the company about anything.
Unsure why people are saying this is a scam number. It's Halifax. Called them and he called me back to prevent my mobile phone time limit cutting us off when on hold for ages.
Genuine call from Lloyds PPI team, verified by the fact they sent me a text in advance of the call from the same number they've sent me numerous other texts from as part of my claims, several times since 2016.
Legitimate call no details requested apart from them
sending a OTP, call was about a fraud I’d had on MBNA Credit Card they knew a lot, didn’t ask for any banking details, no concerns.
This number is safe. They called to check the details of a loan application. I called Halifax after receiving this call as was worried but completely legitimate
Rang for quite a long time, i have made complaints to each of the organisations ...However my instructions are to contact me via snail mail.....so why telephone, especially as my address is not in the UK for certain months.
This number has been identified with Lloyds, Halifax bank but is very likely fraudsters posing to represent them. They may obtain numbers from customers who have sent complaints to these banks. This implied interception must be illegal, especially as the genuine banks disclaim using the number. This presumed connection would boost the apparent credibility of the phisher - indeed some reporters have actuall believed it IS Halifax bank! Beware, and report to crime agencies and the bank who is
The lady said she was from Halifax and wanted details from me which I refused to give. She said that it was urgent re my mortgage but I have no mortgage - she should have known that and I said that to her. I put her onto my husband and at this point she hung up. Be very careful as she kept saying she could give me numbers re Halifax and I hope the halifax are aware this is happening as she could dupe people who are very trusting.
Three evening calls on different days: "needed to rectify a serious problem with my Lloyds bank account as a matter of urgency". I should just confirm my IBAN and full name and date of birth. When asked who he was calling, He stated that he was prevented by Data Protection Act!
Waiting call back from halifax as there online banking has a technical error - so was waiting for call back, But put off when asked to give my account number i refused on this basis
This is a total scammer pretending to be from Lloyds bank. I verified the fraud by contacting Lloyds through a genuine number to see if they wanted to speak to me. Check with Lloyds!
Called legitimately about an account switch that had been rejected by them. This call was completely above board and I had a number of calls over the day from the same number and same person. They were able to provide enough information at the outset to prove they were who they said they were. At the end I was advised to write to the bank, And the address provided is the bank's public address.
It is Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland combined number. The operator checks your ID first then puts you through to either Lloyds group, Halifax group or B of S. I checked this with my group.
Called me twice in the last 2 days. Ignore the comments below about this being a genuine call from Lloyds. It's not. They are probably logged by the same people attempting to fraud people.
Safe to answer - if you want to talk to your bank lol
This number for some reason comes up as a potential fraud/ scam but its the customer line for Halifax and Lloyds basically when you owe them money, This department calls you.
