Was a financial adviser calling me following up on loan and finance enquiries I made through the Lloyds app. He knew my account types and did not ask for details but was aware of my accounts. I have not checked with the bank but he booked and appointment with another adviser in a few days. I will check with my bank before proceeding with this but if it is a scam it is outrageously well done.
Said her name was Bee, calling from my branch of Lloyds but named the wrong branch. When I said I didn’t want to discuss my account over the phone, said she was inviting me into the branch to get a better service. I had to talk over the top of her script reading to say I was ending the call.
It is genuine Lloyds Bank. I called them from my Lloyds app to discuss something. Then they called me with this number 3 hours later regarding the issues.
Very well spoken lady called and said she wanted to discuss my account. Told her I have no money to buy whatever she is selling. But STUPIDLY, I gave her more information than I should have. IT IS NOT Lloyds. Hang up.
COMMON SCAM TRYING TO TRICK THE VULNERABLE. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS, THEY MAY HAVE YOUR NAME AND GET THE RIGHT BANK BY LUCK. JUST HANG UP IF YOU ANSWER & REPORT TO YOUR BANK PLEASE.
Had message left after missing their call, said they were from my bank and it was very important, well spoken english, very friendly voice, but glad I checked here first and then called my bank myself who confirmed there's nothing on my account that requires a call, never had one in my 18yrs of banking with them, the message said they would call back later this week so stay tuned for round 2!
Called saying they were from Lloyds bank, knew my name and town. Both numbers they asked me to call back on claiming to be “local branch numbers” were not and there’s no register of them anywhere. Block and delete.
Similar experience as other comment, two messages left out of the blue by a woman called ‘Jessica’ claiming to be from my local Lloyds bank branch. She stated she wanted to talk to me about my account and asked I call back on a mobile number. Feels pretty dodgy to me so won’t be calling back.
Received two voicemails on my mobile - well-spoken Josh said he was from Lloyds Bank (a local branch) and asked me to ring back 'on their direct number' - actually a mobile number! I didn't ring back.
Not Lloyds at all, claiming to be part of the home insurance department, said my home insurance is due for renewal (it isn't) which I advised. He said 'Would you like me to call you back when it is ready? I said I'm not even with Lloyds for my home insurance. He said 'Jesus' and ended the call. So if it is Lloyds, he's a right rude chap!
I have had several calls from this number. Caller has left me three voicemails. Caller used my full name and said that his name was Josh and he was calling from Lloyd's Bank and left a mobile number asking me to call him back.
Scam, Foreign voice claiming to be my bank asking for my experience asking personal questions, So I hung up. My bank never calls me and banks would never ask this info over the phone. Has since called me 5 times today!!!
Elderly parent states had phone call from bank asking him lots of questions. Fortunately he is hard of hearing. He told the caller (sounded foreign) he was 90 year old and couldn’t be bothered then hung up. His bank have NEVER called before. All correspondence by post. If it is the bank I would not be very happy.
Definitely a scam as Lloyds would never contact you in this way. I suspect the others on this site claiming it’s a genuine call are the scammers associates
Yes it was the Bank. I spoke to one of the staff making the calls aimed at helping their customers deemed by the government to be vulnerable. They provided a special helpline number to cut through the delays in getting to speak to an adviser.
Clear scam, Women on phone asked for an appointment and if I want to get a better ‘deal’ and make more money and then asked if I had online banking which Of course they’d already know! Said they’d call me back. No bank has done this once ever. People saying it isn’t probably are the scammers themselves trying to fool people. Scum.
Legit call - the bank advised they would call from a withheld number so I didn't answer. They left a message explaining it was the call I was expecting.
Booked an appointment at my local branch on Monday, Said they would call or text a reminder.. I didn't answer the call as was busy when they called, But having seen it is linked to Lloyd's, It may well be a legit call, Even if the offers seem a bit shady.
I have rung Lloyds and this is a scam. They say they never make these sorts of calls. I think the comments saying this is not a scam is part of the scam. I would advise to ring Lloyds on a recognised number and not the one the scammers have told you.
SCAM! Called saying he was from Lloyd’s bank, Calling about Mortgage advise and would like to make an appointment. Could have sounded legit, Gave his name and town in which I live (but do not bank there). Have been warned of scams like this by Lloyd’s. Lloyd’s have told me they would never cold call in this way. Be very wary.
This number is actually a genuine lloyds number, However scammers basically clone the number (spoofing) to make it look like its genuinely the bank calling.
Juat got a call - absolute scammers. Hung up on me the moment I said no without saying goodbye. And they do have a lot of positive reviews here which is worrying
Voicemails left. Said it was "your bank" calling! Have phoned my bank for advice. They say it IS a scam!! My bank will not ask me to call back to a mobile number. Do NOT phone them back!!
Voicemail to say "My name is Laura, I'm calling from your bank in townX."
She did not mention which bank, But I don't have a bank account in townX. I have a house there, But don't bank there.
