SCAM FRAUD SCAM EXPENSIVE MISTAKE!
They've changed the last 4 digits (should be 203040) around. Ask them why it's not come up with smart call Halifax Banking. They'll put the phone down. They sound so convincing. I was even crying my eyes out and they rinsed all my accounts by gaining access to all my details. They send text messages saying payment declined on card ending ---- for £so much 2 or 4 times then call you saying they are Halifax with your name and address. Tell you about all these de
This number is almost exact to the UK Halifax 24 hour Online banking telephone on the back of bank cards - with the last four digit transposed from 3040. I received a call from the number at 7. 30pm from a British man telling me he was from the Halifax and quoting my address at me. I stopped the call straight away and called Halifax direct. Coincidentally my call transferred to a Halifax call centre overseas, which when I checked was told was in the Philippines. The fact the call transferred was
Some guy with what sounded like a South African accent pretending to be from Lloyds fraud office informing me that there had been fraudulent transactions on my account and that he had now frozen my account and set up a new account with a new sort code and account number and I had to transfer my money into this account to protect it from fraudulent activities. It was at this point I laughed, told him to XXXXX and put the phone down.
TRUE SCAM. Just called pretending to be from Lloyds fraud office and holding information on cards payments in my account. All sounded real up until I was told they would open a new account to which I had to make a transfer in order to activate. I had fallen for a text message fraud from Royal Mail the day before which they mentioned on the call as a possible reason for the unrecognised payments. They seem to be linked and use as strategy. Fortunately I hanged up.
Just called saying from Halifax and had unusual transaction on my account. WhichI said would be unusual as I don't have account with Halifax, He put phone down. SCAM
