Followed up after a phishing email sent to my wife initially claiming to be the DVLA - after clicking the link and putting in my details I realised it was a scam and cancelled my card with the bank. A week later they called my mobile pretending to be Halifax fraud team claiming my accounts were compromised and attempted to have me transfer funds to a new account at which point I hung up - very professional scam but put down the phone immediately and contact the bank
Caller claiming to be Halifax Fraud Prevention. Declared suspicious activity related to an Argos Purchase and a Gym membership. Claimed to cancel card with authentic-sounding hold music. Security advice given. Culminated in 'insurance checks' to clarify how much money was in the account, which I declined to say. His script ran out and was stumped.
Phoned Halifax Fraud official line with no evidence of any fraudulent activity on the account. Confirmed scam.
Scammer pretending to be Halifax fraud prevention (after obtaining details through a different scam). Do not provide details. Always call the bank. They knew and hung up.
A complex scam - a text received purporting to be Hermes asking for a £1 redelivery fee. That was paid and the same night we had a phone call from the Halifax (our bank) saying that our account had been hacked and large sums transferred out. He talked my wife through 35 minutes of preamble and security checks and telling her he had frozen xyz and deleted the direct debits... Culminating with him pretending to create a new bank account for her where she needed to transfer our full balance and ove
Adam saying he was Halifax fraud, called previous week and I asked where the letter was he was going to send me last week, apologized said it was still in process. Which is odd as I called Halifax fraud last Monday and they confirmed they hadn't called me.
Call from this number 12/04/202 Asking about payments we had made to various parties with Asian names and attempting to get debit card information. Male caller used the normal trick of keeping the conversation going but he ended the call when challenged about scams. Do not answer calls from this number
Received a text message this one below

Confirmed by Halifax to be a fraudulent call pretending to be from Halifax, asking if I’d made a payment to Mohammed Hussain. They even sent me a message from 60298 that read ‘We've temporarily stopped your debit card to prevent fraud. We will get in touch shortly, no need to contact us’. Do not give them any details.
Called saying they were from Halifax fraud prevention. Asked if I was aware of a transaction for ~200£ from my debit card. Asked if I'd made any online purchases recently or been to Staffordshire... They then said they would need to take me through security so they could get the transaction blocked and to send me out a new debit card (big red flag). When I asked them which debit card the false transaction was made on they hung up.

I didn’t give any genuine pass codes only the card reader stuff, They asked if I knew a payee which I didn’t then said to confirm the cancel on my card reader. I realised they weren’t cancelling the payee they were adding them, Luckily I emptied my account at the start of the call so there was no money they could take.
Guy pretending to be Halifax. They even managed to send me alerts just prior to the call saying someone was trying to use my card... This makes you panic and give them details.. I NEARLY did.
Also note this number is ONE DIGIT out from the genuine Halifax number
I had a call from someone stating to be Halifax saying I had fraud on my account and a transaction from another city. I didn't get as far to give him details. I asked for my address and date of birth that they knew. Still, I ended the call.
I had fraud the other month and Halifax usually send you a message asking if you have made said transaction they don't call you.
Dodgy!!!!
I received a call from 0345 720 3041 advising they're from Halifax and 2 payments have been attempted using my account in the last 15mins. The man requested my long card number so my account could be blocked and a new card issued, This is when I got suspicious. They then told me they would create a new account for me which I need to transfer all my money into immediately.
I received a call from 0345 720 3041 advising they're from Halifax and 2 payments have been attempted using my account in the last 15mins. The women requested my long card number so my account could be blocked and a new card issued, This is when I got suspicious and said I didn't have the card details available during the call so they advised they would call back. I then received a text from 20220 saying 'Santander have scheduled you a call back at 3:50'.

BE VERY AWARE OF A SCAM TV LICENCE EMAIL. They accessed my bank account and transferred money from my savings account to the current account. They then rang me 4 times in one day. 4th call they told me I had an Argos transaction of over 1300 spent from my account. He said he was from Halifax fraud team. I checked my bank account whilst he was talking to me and there was nothing else on if other than the transfer. This is done to make you worry and then they ask for your details. I kept hi
I got a call from 'No caller ID' saying they were the Halifax and that there has been unusual activity on my account. They wanted to upgrade my security and change my accounts. They wanted me to transfer money to a 'new account' whilst on the phone to them. I said I wanted to call Halifax myself to check this so they said they would call back on a Halifax number - being this number. I didn't answer and called Halifax who confirmed it's a scam!!
Doesn't ask for any personal details like you would expect a bank too, Did ask if I had overdraft options and when an overdraft extension was asked for but declined they hung up!
They ask for account details as there is suspicious activity in your account. Don't fall for it, It is a scam and they clone bank number so it looks genuine.
Thought the caller sounded odd which made me suspicious.... Pretended to be Halifax asking personal details, Saying there has been a fraudulent transaction on my account for a car purchase in Dublin. Nothing pending on my banking app so again didn't add up. Googled the number and found this page. Caller tried to persuade me not to call Halifax back as I would be waiting 1 hour 20 mins to speak to someone, So it would be easier to deal with him. I have since called Halifax who confirmed this i
They were pretending to Lloyd Bank and were trying to get me transfer money to safe account. Very professional and convincing. I was transferred to manager and then other employee. Also they were very polite and didn't push me to hard. Be very careful with those guys, High level scamers!!!
Claimed to be HSBC & identified a fraudulent direct debit on my account- wanted to cancel my card and give me a new bank account and sort code.. Got pushy when I said I wanted to check out myself and call the bank.
This number called me and stated that my account had been compromised and after asking the standard security questions (full name, DOB and address), They identified a £910 pending transaction for a purchase I did not make.
This phone number is ONE digit different from the Halifax customer service number listed on the back of my bank card.
I actually checked my account on my mobile banking and this was true and the transaction was visible in my pending section. I even had legitimate text messa
UNSAFE _ DO NOT USE
convinced me they were the bank with confirming my details back to me first... Then told me there was transactions on my account that needed review and that all funds should be transferred to a newly opened account.
