Called as a "follow up" to check on fraudulent transactions following cancellation of a card. Didn't seem sure if I had cancelled the card or not. Told me arranging a call back would be a long wait.... Tried to query a transaction to see if it was me. When i asked for his details he hung up. Called my bank and it wasn't them. Beware!
Scammer pretending to be from HSBC fraud - knew about a payment that I had made to Royal Mail and used that information to tell me that my account had been compromised on my mobile due to clicking g in a fraudulent link (that turns out he sent). Scammer pretending to be from Barclays fraud team. When I challenged him he laughed, said he was a millionaire and was going to change his number. Cheeky bastard.
Definitely a scam...... State this is the number of HSBC fraud but carry on asking questions on the pretext of setting up better security on your card.... DO NOT GIVE THEM INFO ring HSBC from the rear of your card you will find out HSBC havent contacted you
