Had a call saying they had missed the call I had made to the number and were calling me back. I had not made a call. The woman did not say who she was or any details. Other respondents on this website say it is a genuine Halifax confirmation call. I had made a payment via Halifax but this was via their automated system on their website to confirm identity. This has involved a phone call to me from an automated system but never from a person. Perhaps I have been hacked.
It’s an automated call from Halifax. I was making a payment by bank transfer to someone who I hadn’t previously transferred money to. The call was to confirm it was actually me setting up the payment.
This is a legit call from a robotic centre of Halifax they phone if you are changing your password by signing in for my new device and confirmation of the account holder is by voice recognition I had to change my password as I realise none of my other passwords were allowing me to access my gmail etc and I was completely logged out of all Google services but I did not realise Woods ask confirming my identity hacker is also hacking into my account while I was changing and confirming my updated pa
I spoke with the Halifax Bank via the App as felt it was safer than calling the number back and the person I spoke to at halifax bank said there were no pending transactions on any of the accounts so felt this was probably a scam or attempted fraud.
Automated voice stated Amazon account would be charged £79. 99. Pressed 1 to speak to operator. Who just stated same Amazon account would be charged. Three times I told him I don’t have an Amazon account but he just kept repeating himself..... Definitely a scam and be aware of positive comments on this page.
Unsolicited call. Claimed to be from Bank of Scotland.... Except I don't bank with them. If it's genuine, Why does the automated call immediately ask for a pass code without confirming who you are? Clever scam. Also, Question the people who have written reviews saying it is safe. Extreme danger.
This is 100% geninue from Halifax / Bank of Scotland. You will receive a call from this number if you are trying to set up online banking, Download the app or set up a new transfer. If you don’t have an account and receive the call, Means sohenone accidentally has your number on their account or if you do and receive the call speak to online banking straight away. Call can happen 24/7
Genuine No. This is used for auto-call to confirm online banking (eg logging into the Halifax app). Of course it will call any no. That the user enters, So if someone enters your no. (either by mistake or an attempted fraud) then you will get the call.
Definitely a scam. Pretended to be Halifax needing a 4 diget code to authorise a transfer to Acc ending 8533. Checked with bank direct who confirmed scam
Definitely not genuine. Called at midnight on a Friday night claiming to be Halifax and wanting my 4 digit security number. Halifax would not call a landline at midnight. So the positive comments are definitely the scammer scum.
Appears to be from Halifax. I do have a Halifax account but did not try to set up a new transfer. I rang back the halifax who also believe it's a scam. If you listen later in the message it asks if you want to reset your password, Which Halifax or any bank would never do.
Secure number!!
It’s just Halifax ring to double check new transfer info
If u don’t have an account with them.... Maybe the person who had your phone number before you did!!
