Stop spam calls

Asked for money straight away and only knew my first name.

If my online account is near £200 in credit, why would I have bill issues. If they knew who they were calling, why would they need me to confirm my account details 😝

Its just call back from SSE Just because she was Indian doenst mean she's a scammer.

The company that they claim to be SSE that’s a company that have their origins here in my hometown of Perth Scotland and the headquarters are in Perth as well. Now all registered businesses and organisations in Perth all of them have 01738 at the start of their number, it’s a requirement for how the landline and phone number system works. In fact I’m pretty sure that if you want to phone someone from outside of Perth or outside of Scotland somewhere else in the UK you actually have to phone 0173

Claiming to be SSE calling and would not explain why they were calling unless you provided sensitive information first

I completely agree re customer service, couldn't fault them before, never dreaded calling. Now it's like taking to a bot. No feeling empathy nothing. And last call the bloke said ok madam I will just log you are refusing to pay.. Wtf!!

Am having horrendous issues trying to now deal with SSE. Their Customer Services were fantastic but now they are really, really bad. This number actually called at 8am and have never phoned back after I told them that in the UK the time was 8am and companies should never call at such an early hour and to make sure their call centre was aware of times throughout the world before they make a call.

It's a call back number I was on the phone to SSE and the call was cut off for poor signal reasons & they called me back totally safe, I did have to verify my details for security but as I was on the phone to them 2 mins beforehand. I was fine and felt safe, issue was resolved and that's all there is to say.. People reporting as scam are obviously paranoid BBC watchers

Called saying they were from my energy provider and asked if they were talking to *insert my name* I said yes as I’ve been having extensive dealings with my energy provider recently. Scammer. Claiming to be from SSE, she knew my full name. I'd luckily spoke to SSE as I had phoned them earlier in the week to give them new meter readings and I was awaiting a revised bill. They left a voicemail yesterday 2nd February 2022 don't think they realised as they was having a conversation sounded like a call centre lots of voices in background

Received a call from this number, no clue who it was. I said hello 4 times with no response. The strange thing was the background noise. It clearly sounded like someone walking fast as if they'd made a pocket call by mistake. No legitimate business would do this surely? I'd like to know why my personal phone number is being stored in a mobile phone.

Wanted to speak to my partner. I offered to give them his number and they declined and told to call back on the same number yet their website number is different. When I asked what it was regarding so I could pass it on she wouldn’t tell me. I told her we’ve already set up our payments so why are they contacting me. Having recently closed my account with SSE this company called me to let me know I still owed £153 on my account. Said they were from SSE wanting me to confirm my account details which I refused to do as they had called me. Story changed from wanting to check my payments were up to date to wanting a meter reading. Very dodgy

This Asian woman from a call centre by the sounds of it knew my name & Energy Supplier SSE/Atlantic but when I delved a little deeper and said I thought our bills were in my husband’s name she then said that “oh yes I see two names on my screen,”; I asked her to verify my initial but she refused saying she wasn’t allowed to disclose my own initial to me under the data protection act. Lots of people getting calls from this number have commented on the scam nature. Woman from an energy company, Supposedly, But not the one we're with, Tried to discuss our a/c. I asked how she got our landline number because we're ex-directory and she tried to say it was on our account. I told her I don't talk to our energy co on it, So she tried to get another phone number out of me - told her there wasn't one and we conduct our business on-line, Are registered with TPS and on their Do Not Call
