They work with brokers on insurance claims. Depending on your point of view this is either good or bad but it isn't illegal or a scam

This call came through when I was on the phone to my insurance brokers about a claim. How they knew I cannot imagine. Anyway never answered so have now blocked number.

Odd to read most experiences because the calls I received were legitimate (like the 15 Dec person said, they are acting for me, on behalf of Kia First, for 3rd party damage to my vehicle).

Called me regarding an accident I had been in that wasn't my fault. Knew details of the accident and was acusatory and tried to intimidate me. They said they were from the third party's insurance. When I called the third party's insurance company to complain about the way and manner I had been spoken to, They informed me that they had never called me and did not recognise the number. I was gobsmacked and I believe the third party gave these people my personal number to intimidate me. It goes to

This company obtained my details including an ex-directory phone number from an unknown illegal source. They then gave the impression they were my insurance company to obtain more information. I believe they are contravening the Data Protection Act. Very underhand.
