We have had the same issue today, after receiving a Next pay credit agreement that we had not asked for. We don't even have an account with them. Contacted Next Pay via Next website number but checked the telephone number on the letter with them and they confirmed it was a genuine Next number. Apparently, an account was opened a couple of days ago using one of our names and our address but nothing else was linked to it and no orders were placed against it. Dealt with via the Fraud Dept.
A next pay account was fraudulently opened. A letter in the post arrived notifying me of the account being opened with this number and was genuine. However I still recommend always go to the company website and find the number their and they will transfer you.
I received the letter and called the number, they said they would put a block on the credit account. I then rang Next using their number on the site and they could see the previous call details and it had been blocked.
So in short, the actual number is genuine.
This is a genuine number for next pay, if you are looking up this number then you have probably received correspondence in the post that you have applied for a credit account with next. Ring them back as you have been a victim of identity theft. Use the number on their website if you are not sure. I rang and a bogus fraudulant account had been setup in my name with my correct address. They were very helpful and closed the account, also gave me free access for 6 years to https://www. Cifas. Org
I received a letter concerning a NEXTPAY account set up in my name and giving this number for queries; I have been a victim of identity theft.
The letter was genuinely from NEXT and the number listed was also genuine; alternatively you can call NEXT on the number listed on their website.
If you get a similar letter from NEXT then you need to follow it up by calling them to get the account closed.
After my call NEXT have closed the account in my name and referred the issue to CIFAS.
Looked up number as others have as I have never applied for a next card. Phoned Next via a number on their website (not the letter). Someone has set up account in my name but not my address. If you get one of these letters contact Next! Still on the phone to Next.
I got the same letter this morning in my husbands name. H e has never applied for a store card in his life. Thank god these sights are available for us to check telephone numbers out. Hopefully no one falls for this letter and calls the bogus number
Letter from Next giving me my new credit card details although I have never applied for one. Gave this number to call to get more information. So it's a scam, Presumably NOT by Next!!
