British Gas trying to force taking up one of the Smart Meters - you don't need to have one as they save you ZERO money. Person who rang wouldn't take no and wanted to know my exact reason why not. Had to hang up on them. They'd rang 4 times this week.
Lady called asking for me by name and that she was from British Gas. Said she wanted to read my meter, I said I submit via BG app, She then said it was about installing a smart meter, I said no, Don't ever want one and stop calling me as it's harassment, Some bloke called me about two weeks ago and I said the same to him.
It's British Gas calling re: Smart Meters. I've had one installed yesterday and they're seeking feedback. It's a legitimate caller but it is persistent, Repetitive and intrusive.
I specifically notified BG not to call and use email for correspondence - on an option they provided. How silly.
British gas calling to say my meter needed upgrading when challenged admitted it was to put in a smart meter. When i declined caller got quite stroppy.
Called me on a Saturday lunchtime. Asked for me by name, In an accent that seemed to be a UK one. However, Almost immediately the line went dead. Damn nuisance! Especially when there are better things to do at the weekend!
British gas left a message telling me to phone them back to arrange a smart meter being fitted, Have block them and no l do not need a smart meter fitted l'm smart enough
Claim to be British gas saying that they have to swap all meters by 2020 according to government policy, I told them I was unable to answer any questions as I was surrounded by lots of people but they kept pushing for answers until I refused to talk to them
This is British Gas.
They have just called me and pretended that there is something wrong with my smart meter and I need to arrange for an engineer to come round and fix / replace it.
I don't have a smart meter.
So this is a scam to get people to install a smart meter by pretending they already had one which was broken.
Disgraceful!

so I said " oh yeh? What about all the radiation that affects the nervous system?" then they hung up.
I phoned British Gas customer services who were able to confirm that it is from British Gas regarding installation of a smart meter.
You are not obliged to have one it is voluntary
Received a missed call so don't know who it was calling. I'm registered with TPS so why do I still get calls like this... At least four a month from different numbers.
Said they urgently needed to book me in to receive a smart meter and indicated they were Scottish Power. Wouldn't say who they actually were. I hung up. They were really looking for my elderly mother, Who's electricity bills I deal with.
Keep calling my number telling me I have to have a Smart Meter fitted. I explained that the meters are not within my flat but are over 20 meters away. They hung up straight afterwards.
I have recieved numerous calls from the 1st of February and get two calls a day from British gas about smart meters but I have already told them time and time again that I don't want one and the don't listen at all. I have blocked the number but still being bombarded with calls. Why don't the listen to what people say??
