Indian man claiming to be from hmrc telling me there was a warrant for my arrest and asking if i had a solicitor. When questioned regarding why i had not received a letter and wanting more information they hung up. Contacted hmrc who confirmed it was a scam

A man phoned claiming to be from HRMC saying I’m going to be arrested for fraud - over £1 700. He knew my home address and said they've contacted me by post twice already. Also not their is evidence the fraud is deliberate and if I have a lawyer. Who does my taxes and where do I work. He then said he will phone me back and ended the call as he was being called and has to go somewhere.
