Stop spam calls

I got a letter from HMRC about an overpayment of tax credits. I phoned it and gave my bank details for a direct debit to be paid each month. Then I panicked and thought I should have looked up the phone number on the government website. I did that and asked them to check my details to see if I had been scammed. It was genuine and there were notes on my file about my payment arrangements. I felt so XXXXX for calling the number on the letter and lucky that it wasn't a scam! Always go to the corre
