Free spam call blocker

Asks you to verify name and address. My response before I answer any cold caller questions I always ask what company are they calling from and what they want. In this case I get Line verification department. I ask line verification for what. They hung up. I also get repeated calls from this number, Often handing up when I answer. What are these scammers on.

Scammer said my name, I asked who's calling, They hung-up.

The caller introduced themselves as a verification process asked me to confirm my name and house no. And then hung up..

This number has been constantly ringing my home landline for the last few days, When answered I am met with silence and then hang up tone. I have been unable to call back to discover the source and have had no success with Internet search via phone book and directory sites. Has anyone had better luck with discovering the identity of this irritant as I would like to return the favour and bug the hell out of them. Thanks

Daily calls since Jan 4th. Hangs up when answering machine kicked in. Number now blocked.
