Said it was HMRC and clearly wasn’t - why can’t these scammers be stopped

Digital voice message as previously described....

Comes up as scam on my O2 phone... Rang me loads of times left a answer machine message saying hmrc and to ring straight away...... Rang back a indian bloke answered... Said he was hmrc.. There was a case against me... I owed £4, 998 in income tax... Lol... I kept him going... Had my old address from 9 years ago and my name only.... Be careful not to give him any information.... Total scam...

HMRC Scammer - Automated American A. I voice stating to be P. C Someone and that the matter is time sensitive etc etc. Load of rubbish!

Received answerphone message from an American lady. As with everyone else, HMRC, Threats, Said there was a warrant out for arrest and tried to get us to pay £4, 500 to get it all cleared. Unbelievable

I just got call from them, I asked for my reference number and asked if I can pay by check. They put the phone down

Scammers pretending to HMRC making threats of legal action. Do not respond.

Left badly constructed computer generated voicemail. Rubbish like “time sensitive “ and “be prepared to face the full force of the law” Not an expected style associated with the REAL HMRC. Could be very worrying to some.

I can only assume that this is a scammer. I received an answer phone message allegedly from HMRC. The tone was threatening & not how HMRC conduct themselves.

Caller stated they were HMRC and it was time sensitive and the threat if you didn't call back.

Not HMRC not sure why they call and what they want to achieve but say will take legal action etc if you don’t call back. Total scam

Recorded message - 'this is time sensitive. It is imperative you return this call.' Obvious scam but could unnerve some people - American, Officious and pseudo legalistic. I just hung up.

Left a voicemail pretending to be HMRC. No name mentioned, And the electronic voice even had an American accent. Try harder, Scammers!! LMAO

Claiming to be HMRC and used the words “contact officer....” total scam.

Called by someone pretending to be HMRC. Clearly a scam.

An American woman claimed to be OFficer Sarah Wilson from HM Inland Revenue and Customs told me if she didn’t get a call back from myself or my solicitor to beware of the circumstances. Not good if this call causes someone to panic.
