Got several unsolicited whatsapp alerts and an SMS with whatsapp authentication code, to register my whatsapp account onto a new phone. I disregarded them all, and set up 2FA. I then got a call from this number, I answered but there was no voice/robot at the end of the line. I looked up the number and found it here, so I'll report/block it.

Received an SMS telling me my WhatsApp is being registered on a new device, just a few mins before a call from this number came in. Decided not to answer as I suspected it is a Scam to request the SMS code for which if given, WhatsApp would have been hijacked onto a new device!

Got 5 calls from them from 3: 00 - 4: 30 in the morning. I did not answer, I also get several sms in Spanish claiming to be Whatsapp authentication. Which is strange considering the Phone numbers can be traced back to UK. There are 3 things that could be happening; 1. Someone deliberately trying to hijack my account. (I doubt that one though.) 2. Automated scam. (Very likely.) 3. Whatsapp spyware exploit. (Also likely.)
