This is actually a DHL courtesy call number to notify of customs fees occurred on inbound international packages. Left a message for me with my Waybill ref and I then went on to the official DHL website to finalise payment.
Called saying from Dhl for outstanding fees. Gave real tracking number of parcel I am waiting for, but when I went on dhl website and asked them about fees, they said they had not received parcel yet!!
Called regarding an outstanding DHL account, we pay on direct debit, got very confused when I said this, apparently she's emailing me the invoice! Quoted an account number which is completely different to mine. Would have fallen for it if I'd not been paying attention

Scam calls and texts from supposedly DHL asking for payments of customs fees. These calls relate to real orders and they have the tracking info but they are fake.
Received a call from DHL to inform me that I will need to pay customs duties for a package (coming from NL to UK, for a legitimate order I placed). I made it clear that I won't pay anything over the phone and was told it's not necessary; to wait for email or text instead. I'd say this is legit. Just an advance notice that one needs to pay customs duties (thanks to Brexit).
