Free spam call blocker

Phone call from this number. I said hello and they hung up.

Recorded message vaguely mentioning a case at Edinburgh Magistrate’s Court. No mention of any of my details just a random case number and then it advises to press one to speak with an officer so i hung up and blocked the number as it sounded dodgy. Googled the number and it actually comes up as Edinburgh sherrifs court but im fairly certain it isnt This is 100% a scammer Dont press 1

O had to hang up as it felt like a scam, I then searched the number and it was the courts, when I called the number back to investigate, there was an answer machine from the court number saying they have been aware of scams that are using their number to contact people.

Claimed to be calling from Birmingham Magistrates Court for tax evasion and asked if I have a solicitor. Scam.

Hung up when recorded message asked for action

Scam recorded message trying to scare me into action. Hung up and blocked

They said I need to go to the magistrates court for tax but it was a scam

Recorded robot message making threats about legal action being taken for some fictitious reason. Ignore.

Came up with Edinburgh sheriff Court then when answered it was a robot

Trying to get information as national insurance number

Scam automated dialler claiming to be a court in Edinburgh. Hung up and Google searched shows it's not officially, scammers have spoofed the number to seem legit.

A scam! Here's a message on the official Edinburgh Sheriff Court website: "We have been informed that some members of the public have received phone calls purporting to be from Edinburgh Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Court about outstanding payments. These calls DO NOT come from Edinburgh Sheriff Court. This is a scam and should be ignored. SCTS does not proactively call people threatening action over National Insurance, unpaid fines or debts."

Call directed through the Edinburgh Sherriff Court - automated message saying I owed money & my NI would be revoked (or something to that effect). Hit 1 to speak to someone, and immediately got through to someone foreign. Very clearly a scam

Automated voice telling me there's a warrant for my arrest and to press 1 to talk to somebody to sort it out. So I pressed 1. Foreign woman answers. She said I owe tax and there is a warrant out for my arrest. I shouted rather dramatically 'WHAT? OH MY GOOD GOD! WHAT HAVE I DONE??'. Allegedly Edinburgh Sherrifs Court, but not-it's a scam. Block it!!!

Don't answer it. Because it's a SCAM. Any number that you cannot return a call to (i e. To verify), is not legitimate.
