Claimed they’re from RBC and wanted to get me to sign up for anti-fraud services and a free credit report every 3 months. Woman sounded like she had a very good command of English, but got very upset with me when I said I wasn’t interested. Extremely deceiving
When they called, they said they were offering funeral services because the person who had died was supposedly me... So they only wanted to speak with my mother.
It's unbelievable the trickery they do to just get as much information as possible from one or the other.
But, eventually, I told them to speak slower (pretending to be someone who doesn't speak good English), and the girl hung up on me, and I blocked the number.
Claiming to have a benefit to offer me. Stated they got my number from RBC when I said that RBC have an agreement not to share information with third parties continued to advise they got my number from RBC.
These people tried calling me several times a day. Picked up once, she said she was from RBC and then I hung up. They then called me again and I let it ring to no voicemail. After several times of them doing this, I looked it up and blocked them right away.
They call me like clockwork almost every day for the longest time they would never say anything because I would just answer it. Today I answered the phone like an XXXXXX in a female voice and they said hello it's so and so there and so I said nope and hung up
Seems to be a scam. I asked her to confirm she. Was calling from RBC and they said no information. Would be provided until I gave my Information out. When I asked twice to confirm what they were calling about and how they can prove its RBC they hung up
Called me and asked for me by name. Said they were from RBC and they were promoting smth. It felt off because normally when RBC calls, it would show the caller ID "RBC" glad that I googled the number to find out it was a scam number. There was also a real representative on the other side.
Answered the call and thought it was my doctor - location says North Vancouver. There was no response. I hung up and blocked the number. Also received random 4 international calls from Tunisia prior and blocked each number without answering.
This number called, didn't recognize so let go to voice-mail, they left no message. Again called, same response, Again no message. Now I look it up and I'm glad I didn't answer as it's a scam call according to all the comments.
... They claimed to be rbc identity theft. Asked me by name. The woman was reactive to my tone of voice - i.e. Not a robot, but like a lot of her responses sounded quite rehearsed.
Asked me for name and email, also asked me to say "yes", which is sketchy. Im doomed🙃 good luck everyone
They had called me, not knowing the number I had left it to go to voice-mail. I'm guessing because I didn't answer they decided to hang-up without leaving a message. More than likely spam supported by all the comments on this number
