A pretence…I was getting “a free, 1 yr membership to CARP which was no longer just for retired people, and included a subscription to Boomer magazine, discounts on services like long distance.” After giving my info, under the pretence of CARP, “CARP no longer stands for…” I told them my long distance was part of a bundle, that was it. I no longer qualified for any of it. They’re selling a long distance phone plan!
