When I answered it was a recording saying to call back a 1-866 number or contact Scotia by mail (po box number). Called +1 (647) 475-1397 and the person who answered asked for my number. I asked what department he’s from and he said wealth management. He tried to get my name, but I hung up. Called the number behind my Scotia card and they said Scotia does my call local area code numbers usually and has no record in my account that someone tried to call me. SCAM!!!
Can I talk to some different name, not my name and when I said you have wrong number, then she was asking for my name I did not tell her. Caller id was showing scotia bank
Bunch of Scammers that seem to run a highly sophisticated system! Scotiabank frauds. Watch out! Trying to report them to the authorities. They tried messing with the wrong one...
SCAMMER ALERT! Pretends to be from Scotiabank! Do not give them any info. Hang up and call the real Scotiabank number to confirm that there are no issues with any of your accounts.
Do not give any information to the person calling from this number!! Claimed to be from Scotiabank and knew my full name and the my min payment that was due... Which it is not. Told them i will be going in to a branch to pay and asked to confirm my address. Hang up!!!
Called claiming to be Scotiabank and telling me I had an outstanding payment due. Knew my full name and both my personal and work cell number which were called within minutes of each other. Did not pry for any information just asked when i could pay the outstanding balance and method of payment. When told i would look into it and pay electronically hang up.... Scam
Beware!! They had my name somehow and claimed to be “collections.” The customer service representative answered the call right away... Another red flag. He also was prepared for the push back from the person on the other line, Have your guard up when you get these types of calls!! Do not give them any information. It’s okay to be rude considering they are scammers.
You have to be so careful considering their automated system is so advanced.
Typically any bank that call, Would verify the account, They did not, So if this is a legitimate call, Scotiabank's got some esplaining to do. I doubt very much that is was Scotiabank but who knows? She wanted to give me a transit number to send $100. I stated that I didn't feel it's a legitimate call with the lack of verification on the account and when I make a payment, I make it at my bank so, Nice try, Moving on.
They claim they are from Scotia bank and my car loan payment bounced so i need to pay it over the phone... They dont check any personal info but the guy knew i had a car loan on scotia it seems they hacked the loan database, He even knew how much is my payment!
I told them im not oaying over the phone double next payment on scotia system.. That didnt happened obviously, And i checked the payment was deducted on time no bouncing no nothing.. 100% scam
Claimed to be from Scotiabank. She refused to disclose the reason for the call until I gave her my full name. I told her I'd deal with the local branch and hung up.
I just picked up this call, Said hello. No one there, Held quiet for 1 minute. Someone on other end, Yes, But never talked. They hung up after a minute. Scam? Probably. IF banks call someone usually speaks, And they call for a reason. Scam caller.
