Call me RELENTLESSLY. This number once called up to 7 times a day for a week. And everyday at least once. I blocked the number months ago and now they leave a blank voice-mail every day when they call. Absolute scam nonsense.
Got two calls from this number today. Didn't answer the first one and they left a blank voicemail. Called again and this time I answered. A lady on the other end said she's with BMO and told me I have to pay off $24 on my credit card that is apparently two cycles overdue. Told her that was strange because my app said I didn't have to do that and that I just paid off my credit card 4 days ago. She sounded confused and didn't ask me for any new information or how I would like to pay it off as anot
I'm going to call this a "Scam" because it felt like one. I picked up the call, then they said they're from BMO, asked me if I'm "Name" and I said yes. They said I'm overdue and have to pay $30, and then the guy said "How will you be paying?". I told the guy I'm gonna hang up because I don't trust the call.
I was overdue on my payment so it was a good reminder, but that call sounded really fishy. Also it wasn't $30, so that's even fishier.
First off, if this is a courtesy call/reminder
Repeatedly calls throughout the day, Often 3 or 4 times in short succession. After finally picking up, A man with an Indian accent told me they were from BMO and immediately began asking me personal questions related to my account. I am not a BMO customer. I immediately hung up and reported the call to BMO. I hate that people are trying to take advantage of Canadians through a 1-888 number during these trying times. Pathetic.
Not BMO or service Canada. Do not give them any information! The very repetitive "safe" comments below saying the number is legit, Are obviously the scammers trying to save themselves from all the bad comments.
Received calls from this number and emails claiming to be from Singlepoint on behalf of BMO. I called BMO directly and they verified that this is a legitimate call to follow up on a late payment.
I went beyond customer service. Some replies claiming this is a courtesy call is either misinformation from the same people calling from this number, Or this person has something confused.
I have called BMO headquarters. I spent 4 hrs yesterday talking to every different department. I gave them the number to verify, And they don’t know or never heard of this company or phone number. They even searched their website while I was on the phone.
The Mississauga singlepoint location is shut do
Called me and immediately started asking me for personal/financial info. Told them I would “ call them back”- they’ve called me back 4 times in the past 5 hours, And never leave a message.
What financial/governmental service:
1)calls you back less in than 24hrs?
2)Doesn’t leave you any message?
This caller will make you answer the word “YES”
What he did was he did say my second name which make me suspicious as my second name was never used in any of my business transactions.
He keeps repeating and calling
my second name followed by my first name. I never answered anything other than saying my first name. He did it 4 times he then hangs up.
So many bad comments for no reason. It's on behalf of BMO. Courtesy call for late payments. Literally pulled all the information on my account without needing anything from me, Even provided me with my consignors information on file. Said I was late for a 73$ payment, Which I was, Advised them I paid it a few days ago, Which it didn't show in their systems because it takes them a few days to receive notices from bmo. They don't claim to be bmo they claim to be calling o behalf of them.
Lite
They called and said they were performing customer service for BMO. I asked for a call back number and they gave it to me. They said they were performing a courtesy call regarding my business credit card. They provided me with my balance, My minimum amount due, And asked me to confirm my mailing address. I confirmed my mailing address. They said they were making a note of the conversation on my account. Afterwards I called BMO and asked if there were notes of the call on my account. They reporte

They have called me a couple times a day for the last week. I answered today. They asked for my husband said they were bmo. When I asked what it regarded. They said there was no one else authorized on his accounts. That he needed to call them back. They called my cell, That’s in my name. Also all our accounts are joined.
This number just called my house phone. They called yesterday 3 times. I'll bet that they will call again today.
Thank you to everyone who posted their comments because I got annoyed that I was going to pick up the phone.
And thanks to the individual from October 22 who called BMO and confirmed that this not a BMO phone number.
October 22, 2020: called BMO about this number. BMO said it has nothing to do with them. They are a scam. If you do answer, Do not give them your birthdate (which they will ask for). Do not give them any of your Personal Account Numbers. If you gave them credit card numbers, Call your BMO contact immediately and cancel your cards.
This number 18886099695 calls my house phone everyday. They called 4 times today. I just hang up the phone every time I see this number on my call display. It is very annoying, Especially now that I am working from home due to the pandemic.
I get a call from this number 1-2 times a day, They never leave a message and I’ve never heard anybody on the other end (I also have never answered with “hello”, Opting to stay quiet when accepting the call)
Scam. I called BMO directly to confirm my accounts were in good standing order. The BMO representative I spoke to said that this is a scam. Never give anyone person info.
I've been receiving calls everyday from this number.
So, I wrote to BMO to make sure it's not a scam.
This is the answer I got from an Advisor, Online Banking, BMO Bank of Montreal:
"Thank you for contacting BMO Bank of Montreal regarding received calls.
I confirm that the calls you have received from SinglePoint from us are legitimate.
Largely due to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, Our Customer Contact Center has seen an increase in the volume of calls to the accounts of custome
BMO uses a third party agency to remind people of a missed payment. I called BMO back and had one of their agents confirm that this number is indeed used by one of their affiliates.
They called 3-4 days in a row, Left messages saying they were BMO, Gave me a phone number to call and a reference number. I answered one of the calls, French accent guy asking for my birthdate, I laughed, Told me to call number on my card. I did, They didn't know the number he called from, But couldn't say if it was them or a fraudster. The potential fraudster sounded about as professional as the boneheads at BMO, So who knows?
They are definitely scam phone and fraudsters. They kept calling me and saying they are BMO, Asking my private information. I called BMO and clarified this number is NOT any part of BMO. If you need to know anything about your account, Call the bank Official number by yourself, Never answer unknown or doubtful phone call!
Man spoke to me in french, Started by asking me to "confirm" my identity, So I asked him to confirm his and give me the info he had on me so I could indeed confirm. He said it wasn't protocol, But he could give me half my address and I could complete the rest - of course I didn't. Then I asked him who he was, What the call was for, And who he was working for : "Jeffrey" from Single Point recovery agency, And he wouldn't tell me what payment had not been made and that I could call the bank to
Robot number calling repeatedly. Claims to be from BMO but asks for personal information. This is a SCAM! Banks do not use 3rd parties to solicit information from you!
Claiming to be from Bank of Montreal. I don't care if some here are claiming this to be legit - BMO says directly on their fraud prevention site " Remember, We’ll never contact you by email or phone asking for personal info or account details."
Its BMO, Simple courtesy call reminding you if you missed a payment.
No collection.
They ask for your birthday to confirm your are the BMO customer they are looking to speak too - wouldn't want your friend who picks up your phone to hear your banking information of course.
Safe number.
THIS IS A SIMPLE COURTESY CALL FROM BMO TO ENSURE NO NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR CREDIT AND TO ENSURE YOUR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS ARE CURRENT.
