Got a text message from 83228 to call 18884160915 because my Visa card payment due date was June 1. This was wrong. I do not know how they got the last 4 digits of my credit card. Thanks for this thread. I forwarded the text message to XXXXXXXX@td. Com. Please beware of lazy thieves out there.
Have gotten 2 emails and now a text from them saying that I owe them money. I already sent the email to TD's official phishing email and I disregarded the text after looking it up here. I don't have any payments I owe with that amount of money. Scam
Sounded legit and called. Even sounds like TD with french options. Answred by some lady. Red flag when she asjed for verification info that was private
Sounds really legit, even has a TD answering message, then you get a lady claiming to be from collections in London Ontario, its BS, only call the phone # on the back of your credit card
Receoved a text from TD Customer Assistance: with a payment reminder for 18. 00. It was a red flag beasue I don't have an account with any sort of payment schedule like that. Called the real TD and reported.
Sounds very legit when you call in. They try to 'verify' you with fake questions that sound real. They then proceed to ask for a email, name or phone number so they can link the scam call to a fake overdue bill that they created for your account and try and charge you the fake owed amount. I tried to do my part by reporting the number and I took the time to write this while keeping them waiting on the phone :)
Got a text from 83228 saying its a reminder of a business loan payment for $606. 52. Looked very legit but the loan number doesn't match anything I have so I decided to check the phone number and found this page. Thankfully, I didn't contact them. Don't think TD send out texts to their customers...
Got a legit-sounding email 'reminding' me to make a $91. 47 'overdue payment' to a TD XXXXX account I no longer had, and asking me to call the number 18884160915 to 'make payment arrangements that worked best' for me. I ignored it and a few days later someone, pretending to be an agent of the bank, called me and tried to pull the exact same scam on me. However, as soon as he realized I wasn't having any of his BS he hastily retreated and melted away.
