This is the verification call when you login to your online banking! This is not fraud but rather a bunch of dumb people that don't understand technology and how sign in verification works....
Called TWICE with a verification code. Said if I didn’t request the code to call the number on the back of my card. Called my bank. NO activity recorded against my card and not a bank phone #. So a scam of some sort.
Called at 530am with a verification code. Said if I didn’t request the code to call the number on the back of my card. I’ll call my bank when they open to check in
Scam
But they are using an old BMO number they use to use for text alerts for spending on your account.
Not a smart scammer though answers on his cell phone with the wind howling and no formal greeting.
Two emails received 8 minutes apart claiming to be BMO Mastercard with a verification code. In the email it suggested to call this number if verification code was not requested. No names or partial card number listed in email to verify its validity. I will advise BMO in the morning.
Voicemail msg left for verification code if not made to call this number. Called and was answered bmo. But acknowledged not bmo phone number when recited number back. Wanted my bank card info. Refused, Hung up and called bmo. No such action took place. Scam.
